Privacy Policy
Effective 29 September 2026. Readscribe is made by Giorgi Mekvabishvili. This page explains what the app keeps, who can see it, and how to remove it.
What Readscribe keeps
- Your account: your email address, and your name if Apple or Google share it when you sign in.
- Your profile: the name, handle, bio, profile photo and binding colour you choose, the kinds of books you told us you read, and whether new notes start out shared or private.
- Your reading: the books on your shelf and whether you've read them, your notes — the quote, the page, your reflection and the date — and your collections.
- What you do with other readers: who you follow, the notes you like or save, and the replies you write.
Photos of pages stay on your phone
When you photograph a page, the text is read on your phone. Only the words you choose are saved. The photo itself is never uploaded or stored. The camera is used for nothing else.
Who can see what
- Shared notes can be seen by other signed-in readers: in the feed of people who follow you, on your profile, and on the page of the book. Other readers can like and reply to them.
- Private notes are seen by no one but you.
- Your profile (name, handle, photo, bio) and the books on your shelf can be seen by other signed-in readers.
- Your email address is never shown to anyone.
What Readscribe doesn't do
No ads. No selling or renting your information. No tracking you across other apps or websites. No analytics tools.
Services involved
- Supabase stores your account and everything listed above, and handles signing in.
- Apple or Google, if you sign in with them, confirm who you are.
- Open Library receives what you type when you search for a book, and supplies book details and covers. Their own privacy policy applies to those requests.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to You → Settings → Delete account. You can save a copy of your notes first. Deleting removes your account, profile, photo, books, notes, collections, follows, likes and replies straight away, and it can't be undone. You can also email us and we'll delete it for you.
Children
Readscribe isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep information from them. If you think a child has an account, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
